Who are we and what we do

Agriculture Consultancy Management Foundation(ACMF)  was set up in 2006 as a  not-for-profit trust to demonstrate productivity improvements in agriculture.Mission.

ACMF believes in a high double digit growth for the agriculture sector also.
  There are several favourable factors:

  • Large arable land.
  • Agro climatic conditions and endowments that favour farming round the year.
  • Availability of large numbers of farm hands.
  • Present low levels of average productivity that lend for quantum growth.

Food production has been stagnant at an annual average of around 206 million tonnes  for some 15 years. The application of simple principles of science and technology, farm  mechanisation and management, ACMF believes, can trigger a Hanuman jump in productivity and hence production.

Objectives:
  • Provision of comprehensive consultancy services and training of farmers with specific emphasis on improving      productivity and increasing farm incomes.
  • Setting up model farms to demonstrate the use of modern scientific methods.
  • Providing assistance to farmers for selection of crops suited to the agro climatic and soil conditions.
  • Advising on preparation of land,  appropriate mechanisation, ploughing  deeper, raising nurseries, schedule of fertilisation, irrigation and water management, storage... and on market information.
  • Establishing soil test laboratories for soil testing and analysis including for micro nutrients, training to interpret the results and recommending needed corrections.
  • Accessing data from satellite mapping and water endowments and interpreting these to farmers.
  • Advising on handling the increased yields through proper transportation, storage, processing and marketing.
  • Studying best practices developed by agri universities and corporates and work with these to extend these to the benefit of other farmers.
  • Entering into contracts with corporates and other farming agencies to provide consultancy in agriculture.
